Max Finbow – Managing Director
Armed with a degree in Latin American Literature from King’s College London, Max moved in to theatre and started his professional career in stage management touring the world with the London Contemporary Dance Theatre (now sadly defunct). Subsequently he spent five years as Technical Manager at the Royal Opera House and then the National Theatre before moving to Devon to take up the position of Technical Director at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Since 1993 Max has been General Manager for many West End and touring shows, including responsibility for all Riverdance productions worldwide and for Slava’s Snowshow. For Clear Channel Entertainment he was Executive Producer on the first UK tour of Chicago, also Singin’ In The Rain, Doctor Dolittle, Daisy Pulls It Off (West End) and Cats. He has managed the UK production of Grease since 2000 and is Executive Producer for the new Broadway production and the US tour.
He is a member of various industrial relation committees for the Society of London Theatre and for the Theatrical Management Association, and is chair of the TMA / MU negotiating committee.
Forty years on, Max feels it’s finally safe to confess that he was once a regular competitor throughout the UK and internationally in Ballroom and Latin American dancing competitions. He played ‘Oliver’ in the King’s Lynn Players production many years ago and was once awarded the prestigious title of Most Promising Actor (Under 21) at the East of England Drama Competition!
