Cats Germany - Elegance on Four Paws

Friday, 9th January, 2009 saw Cats close in Frankfurt following a hugely successful 9 week season in Germany. The Cats presentation was the result of a ‘first time collaboration’ between DIP and BB Promotions.

The German season opened to great reviews in Cologne at the Musical Dome on Wednesday, 12th November. The German publication General Anzeiger described the show as “Elegance on Four Paws”. 

Cats played to packed houses for 5 weeks in Cologne before moving to the Alte Oper in Frankfurt for 4 weeks where the show broke all musical box office records.

Cats was presented in English for the first time in Germany with a predominantly British cast although interspersed with some German, Dutch, Spanish, American and Australian performers to add to the ‘international flavour’. The cast were described by one of the local newspapers perfectly “each and every member of the perfectly cast ensemble interprets the choreography and direction with exuberance and near virtuoso dancing skills”.

Cats proved to be a ‘purr-fect’ Christmas treat for the two cities where the ‘house full signs’ were regularly used.
